Mexico was a good introduction to Central America, but not so much to South America - the mordidas, the general indifference to everything were what I would see down to Nicaragua, but not in Costa Rica, Panama, Ecuador or Peru. Too bad so many people get their ideas about Latin America from the Mexican border zone...
