This was the start of the road through the mountains in Baja, and this is actually the last picture my good camera took before it was destroyed in the accident, later that afternoon. This also looks very much like where we had the accident - there was an incline and a curve to the left - just imagine that instead of a slope there is a 100 meter sheer dropoff.

This is the center dome of the Hospicio Cabaño in Guadalajara, a part of a series of graphic and grim murals depicting Mexico´s history from the start of the Spanish colonization. The inversion of hell in the top of a dome where usually there is some image of heaven is very deliberate...

These are some paper mache statues from Guanajuato, celebrating the Day of the Dead.
This is the fountain at the center of the plaza in the Museum of Anthropology... very beautiful, but this pillar is the only thing holding up an enormous roof for the plaza. But I guess it´s already survived one big quake...
